TOK BLOCtm is a new and intriguing percussion instrument. It creates a variable pitch and tone simply by covering and uncovering the hole with your hand while you hit the sound board gently with the mallet. Two or more units can also be set down and played with a pair of sticks. Some people also play them just with their fingers! It's hand made from natural and renewable materials and has a beautiful finish. TOK BLOCtm feels good in your hand and is easy to play.

What Makes The Tok Bloctm UNIQUE
The TOK BLOCtm has several design features that, when combined, make its sound and performance quite unique. The main one we will mention here is the opening on the side with the technique of holding one hand over this to create different pitches and tones.
NOTE: BEWARE THE FAKES!
Always looking out for a good idea to steal, some people have taken the basic look of the TOK BLOCtm coconut drum and now manufacture and sell fakes in many countries. It is even claimed that the variable sound drum is a training drum from Indonesia. This is simply not true! (See ABOUT US for the real history of the invention of the Tok Bloctm).
We would like to take this opportunity to inform you, dear reader, that the fakes are inferior and a far cry from the original! The reasons are several, but the skinny of it is that the fakes sound like a clacky, cheap wood block and lack the timbre (pronounced "tambor") that is characteristic of the real TOK BLOCtm. The fakes also have poor construction and tend to delaminate more easily. So, in addition to the extra sales we would like to enjoy, we recommend you stick to the original on behalf of your greater playing and listening pleasure.
